Title tag is the most important of all the tags and has the highest on
page optimization value and your
rankings highly depend on your title tag. After link popularity, Title
tag is the most important factor that
can affect your rankings in search engines. A well written and optimized
Title is the key to success. Making an
optimized and effective Title tag is not that difficult than you are thinking
actually its a very simple thing.
You just have to develop a crisply written and well optimized Title for
your website that is not so difficult.
Here are some tips for optimizing Title Tag.
*Use your most important keywords first in the Title tag and use less
important ones after that. As an example
suppose my primary keywords are: seo firm, seo company and seo services
and which seo company is the most
important of them all then I will use something like:
<TITLE>SEO Services Korea </TITLE>
*Try to target not more than 3-4 keywords in the Title Tag exceeding this
limit will dilute your keywords and
thus can decrease the ranking value of the keywords in the tag.
*Consider using both singular and plural forms of the important words
in your Title Tag. For instance, you may
use both "service" and "services" while making the Title Tag. But make
sure that you do not overdo it.
*Title Tag length: Google usually reads about 62 characters of your Title
Tag. Therefore, a Title Tag of about
50-80 characters is good enough. However you can use more for the other
search engines because different search
engines have different limits.
*Avoid using the same Title Tag throughout your site. Try using a unique
Title Tag for each web page and use
keyword phrases that holds theme relevance to that page. You also get
to leverage more keyword phrases if you
individualize the Title Tag in all pages.
Copywriting
- The description tag is the text that will be displayed under your title on the results page. Here is an example description meta tag which should appear in-between the <HEAD> tags of your web pages:<meta name="description" content="A Description of My Web Pages.">
The best way to use it is to place your keyword phrase inside this meta tag "once", then split up the phrase and add the keywords again separately. But keep it readable, and avoid too many comas. This can be viewed as spam, so don't do it or your site could be black listed and ignored by search engines all together. Also, use two sentences maximum and avoid sales pitches like "the cheapest product ever", and so on.
Keyword Strategies
- It would be a waste of your time to optimize your website for keywords that are not even being searched for. Therefore you should invest some energy into finding the best keywords. There are several SEO tools available on the Internet to help you find the best keywords. Don't be deceived by disreputable organizations who require you to register first. The two most popular resources are WordTracker and Yahoo!. Because Yahoo! has a man-made database that truncates plurals, I prefer to use WordTracker.-Yahoo! (Overtuers Inventory Tool) :This tool is free and very easy to use and understand, but it only tells you how many searches have been conducted previous month for your keyword (and similar keywords) on overture and its other partner sites.
-Wordtracker :Wordtracker lets you input a chosen keyword and then provides you with a list of alternative, related keywords. WordTracker is a much more powerful tool, but you have to pay to use it (you can subscribe for a day for around $10). WordTracker helps you find the most appropriate keyword for your site telling you what people are really searching for and how competitive that particular keyword or phrase is.
Generally speaking, you're better off targeting phrases, not single words. For most businesses, there's simply too much competition for single keywords. And I suggest adding your target keywords 3 to 4 times without repeating the same term and consider using both singular and plural forms of the important words in your keyword. Notice that the keywords listed 3 times are not only split up using other key terms, but are also never too close together. I do this by adding other keywords/phrases in-between the ones with the target terms.

Link Popularity
- Link popularity and optimization go hand in hand. Link popularity is like fuel for your car. Optimization is like having a car pointed in the right direction. Without fuel the car won't go anywhere. Without being pointed in the right direction the car won't end up where you want it to go. With an unfocused optimization, you can't fully exploit the benefits of link popularity.
